Six Years

I still remember exactly what I was doing at this time 6 years ago. I had just gotten back to my desk ( I was still in the Navy) from dropping Jacob off at his wonderful daycare and was waiting for a phone call from a friend over in medical to call me with the results of my pregnancy test. Jacob was only 6 months and 1 week old. I was hoping the test would come back negative-- I didn't want another baby just yet. Jacob was too great and I didn't want to have to split my time with him to have to spend time with another baby as well. Silly of me huh!! Well I got the results that I wanted right about this time. I stayed at work until 1:30pm and than went to pick Jacob back up for his 6 month well baby appointment. Little did I know that would be the last time I would ever go pick him up from daycare. I hated dropping him off at daycare, but wish I could have continued. At least I know that he was well taken care of there! Jacob weighed a little over 15lbs the doctor said and he looked great! He was great! He was an amazing baby!!! I was able to hold him and love on him for another 9 hours and than he left us. I was so amazingly blessed to be his mom, to hold him, love him, kiss on him, and just be with him! I will always treasure the time I had with him and I look forward to holding him again someday in heaven! It's been 6 years now and I miss that boy so much, it's hard to not imagine what he'd be like now or what he'd look like. I even wonder how different Sammy and Silas would be if there big brother were here.
