Decorating the Christmas Tree and Hanging the Stockings

The boys had lots of fun decorating the Christmas tree and hanging their stockings. I took pictures of the ornaments that are precious to us and pictures of us hanging them on the tree.

The boys put up their stocking and Caleb decided (with his mommy's help) to wear his!! Forgot to mention in the previous post- that Santa came to our house since Caleb shouldn't go to the mall to see him (he's too at risk for catching a virus)
Tomorrow afternoon we are going to church

More Pictures

Here are some more pictures of the last few days! There will probably be a few posts like this just to get all the pictures in!!

Fun Christmas Days!

I just love Christmas time! I love the music, the decorating, the baking, the wrapping of gifts, and most of all the meaning of Christmas! I love listening to the songs that tell of Jesus' birth- "Go Tell it on the Mountain" is one of my favorite songs--among many others!!
It has been a busy few days for us- with baking lots of cookies, making of the gingerbread house (not completed yet), decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, hanging stockings, pictures, and making gifts (which it's 2 days before Christmas and I still have quite a bit of sewing to do)!
Here's a few of the pictures of what we've been up to and the recipes we've been busy making!

Pictures of Silas and Sammy

Silas and Sammy sleeping- very exhausted after a day of shopping the black Friday sales. Silas out shopping with us- he fell asleep while in the basket holding his fishing pole. He's training for "real fishing" --falling asleep while holding the pole that is!

Busy Couple of Weeks

So is anybody ready for Christmas yet? I am, but yet at the same time I'm not. I still have a few things to make- yes I know Christmas is in a few days. Presents are wrapped though! I still also have to make some "food in a jar" items and get those delivered to some people around town. The hard part to all of this is completeing it with 1 sick child and of couse me with a cough! Fun Times!
If Silas is up to it today we will be doing our gingerbread house and gingerbread foam decorations. I am hoping to actually make some gingerbread cookies tonight or tomorrow and let the kids decorate them. They will have fun with that.
Tonight Santa is coming to visit us at our house! That will be a nice treat. We have to have him come to us since Caleb can't (or actually shouldn't) go see him at a mall and neither can Silas (since he is sick right now). Also saves me the hassle of going taking the 3 of them to the mall and dealing with all of the people there.

Sammy had his last football game this past Saturday. He did a great job playing defenseman this season. The coach talked to us after the game and said Sammy improved tenfold over the course of the season in behavior and listening. YEA!! My dad was able to make it to the game. He enjoyed watching Sammy play and was impressed with how well Sammy can play. So at one point during the game the ball was passed to Sammy and he only got about 10 feet before his flag was pulled. So he was trying to avoid one of the kids and had to run the wrongway for about 3 yards and Rob started yelling "no Sammy wrong way go this way" (while pointing towards the touchdown area- sorry I don't know the terms). Right than Sammy's flag was pulled (thanks dad for distracting him) Sammy jumped up and yelled back at Rob "Daaaddd I was trryyyinnng tooo, I had to get away from the other team" It was really cute and funny. He got his trophy- another one to add to the shelf. I am starting to think that with 3 boys I am going to have to have a "trophy room"!
Sammy starts teeball up in Feb. That should be fun! I love baseball so I will know all the terms and will be better at explaining everything.

I think tonight after Santa leaves we may go look at Christmas lights! I will get some pictures posted of Sammy's football game, the award ceremony, building of the gingerbread house, and other things.

Sammy and Rob are going to the Poinsettia bowl tomorrow night (as long as he remembers to get the tickets after work today). That should be fun for the two of them. Rob is looking forward to spending some quality time with just Sammy! I know Sammy will love that- having daddy just to himself!

Off to get breakfast started for these kiddo's! Come back tonight or tomorrow to see the pictures!!

Due Date

Today was my due date with Caleb. I can't believe he's been here for almost 6 weeks already. He is now just over 6 lbs. He just got over his first sickness, the stomach flu. I felt so bad -poor baby! His first virus has to be something so bad. He and I both had it at the same time. Luckily he didn't get a fever like I did. I was told by the doctors is he got a fever he had to go to the hospital immediately (and that is a 48 hour admission just for observation). Today was his first time in his stroller. He enjoyed his ride home from Sammy's school. Last night (well actually early early morning) I got him to smile for me. It was so very cute! I have been trying all day to get him to do it again - so far no luck! We'll get it though!

Sammy only has a week left of school and he will already be out for Christmas break! WOW how the time flies! He is starting to read. They are learning sight words. I will have to go through his list with him to see how many he knows now.

Silas, well that boy is something else. Today we went to Wal*Mart to pick up some stuff, the whole time he kept pointing at stuff saying "Mommy I really want that" or "Mommy will you buy that for me?" We than went to see the "fishies" I started talking to him about him going to school (preschool). This was our converstation
Me: Silas do you want to go to school?
Silas: YEA ME GO TO SCHOOL
Me: Well if you want to go to school than you have to go potty in the toilet
Silas: In my Monkey bathroom? (their bathroom is done in monkeys)
Me: Yes, in your monkey bathroom or in any bathroom. You can't go to school wearing diapers. Only big kids go to school and big kids don't wear diapers, only babies wear diapers.
Silas: I bigboy
Me: well than you have to go potty in the toilet so you can go to school
Silas: No, no school. I like diapers.

End of conversation!

What a brat!! Gotta love him!!

Silly Silly Boys

YEA Rob came home today. This week (well Tues-Fri) was my first time at home with all three kiddos on my own all week. It actually went pretty well. We missed a few things this week, woke up a little late a couple of times, and I had to get my friend Lisa to take Sammy to school a couple of those days. But overall we did pretty good.
Tonight our church, Newbreak, had a program - Overwhelmed. It was for military families. We dropped off our kids (Sammy, Silas, and Jackson). They kept the kids for 3 hours and the parents could go Christmas shopping, go on a date, or do whatever they wanted for those 3 hours. It was like Black Friday for us. I took the boys in, got in the car and was like "lets go lets go lets go, got to grab some food and get shopping". We made it to 3 stores. Bearean (sp?) Christian Book Store, Mini Mart (they had something in there for the boys), and Target. We had fun. I forgot the camera cause I was going to take pics of us shopping. I'd say well get them next time, but we are done with the exception of a white elephant gift.

So this evening was quite amusing. First we get back from picking up the boys. My nephew Jackson sees his sippee cup on the livingroom floor, Runs over to it and says "oh my sippee, I love you, I love you" and proceeds to kiss it.
I was sitting on the couch later and I told Silas "Mommy wants some milk". He jumps up and tells Rob "I get mommy milk" He opens the fridge and grabs a bottle of....BREASTMILK and brings it to me. It was so funny. Luckily I had the camera right next to me, so I got a pic.

So we do have a prayer request for a friend of mine. Jeff and Carrie (our great friends in Virginia Beach) have 2 boys- Jeffrey and Elijah. Yesterday Elijah had a ferbral (fever induced)seizure, he stopped breathing and had to go to the hospital via ambulance. The CT-Scan showed a spot on his brain. Today he is back to his normal self. Can everyone though pray for complete healing and that the next scan (not sure yet when that will be or if it will be MRI) would be perfect.
Thanks!!

Almost a Smile

Caleb started making facial expressions today when I would talk to him. I got a 1/2 smile. It was almost as if he started it and than decided he didn't want to do it. I can now see in his eyes when he gets excited about something (TMI but usually he gets that look when he sees my boob LOL).
Last night he went 5 hours in between feedings. I woke up really worried because he hadn't woken up yet. But he was fine and I woke him up. He wasn't too happy about that. Than I really made him mad when I decided to take some pictures of him! I'll post those later after I download them
I spent the day sewing today. I had to get some burp cloths done for David's new granddaughter. My mom and David are driving up to China Lake to see her for the first time. She is about a week and a half old (She and Caleb are 3 weeks apart). I forgot to take pictures of the burp cloths I made today- I'll see if my mom can take a picture of them once she gets up there. This is my second set of burp cloths I have made, the first set were for us.
