Well I woke up this morning to my belly hurting. Not contractions, not baby moving, not sure what it was that was exactly hurting, but something was. Well we went about our day, got Sammy to school. It was quite cold outside this morning- for San Diego that is! It was 44 degrees out when we left to take Sammy to school. BRRR!
At about 9:30am I realized I hadn't felt Caleb move but a few times in 12 hours. That is a really long time for Caleb who is usually going crazy inside of me!! So I got someone to watch the boys and I went to labor and delivery. Sure enough I got there and he isn't moving. His heart rate was okay, just no accelerations. Even the nurse mentioned that it wasn't great. Finally after 20 minutes Caleb got with the program and started to move. He had 2 accelerations after a couple of movements, but than I noticed that afterwards they were decelerations after the movements. But they still released me. Sooo off to home they sent me. He has been moving just a little bit since than- nothing like normal. I do have a non-stress test in the morning along with an ultrasound- so tomorrow I will be talking to them about it.
Rob and Sammy just left for football practice. Sammy is excited that his first game is coming up on Saturday he is so excited!! I can't wait to get pictures and share with you all!!!

So I guess I'm a Little Behind
So it shouldn't surprise anyone that I am a little behind in updating our blog. It's been a month since I've last updated and a lot has happened since than- and no Caleb isn't here- if thats what you were thinking has changed!!
I think I'll start with the most recent. We went to Disneyland yesterday. Oh my gosh- the boys just had so much fun! I love watching their little faces light up with joy and happiness. They were on their best behavior! Which made it even that much more enjoyable for Rob and I! :)
Silas absolutely loved the Haunted Mansion. He rode with his daddy and Sammy rode with me. When we got off of the ride, Silas says "That ride was sooo cooooool!!" and jumped up in the air and pounded his fist in the air. I wish I had the camera out for that shot. Sammy's favorite spot was ToonTown- all of it!! We were in there for almost 2 hours. We got to take pictures in there with Mickey Mouse. I can't wait to download the pictures for everyone to see how great of time we had. Last night someone, who worked at the park, came to the rescue. He turned out to be an angel!! The boys were crying they wanted to go on the submarine. The wait for the line was 30 minutes and at 8 months pregnant I just couldn't do anymore. I felt so bad, because there was just no way I could stay at the park in line for 30 minutes, do the ride, and walk back to the car. I was leaning over the stroller, the boys were crying and whining about going on the ride, and this man walks over to us. He asks Rob if Rob is still on active duty, Rob, of course, says Yes. He said he used to be active duty and asks if the boys really want to go on the submarine. Rob responds "yes, but my wife can't stay here any longer." The man than says to follow him. We walk right up to the front of the line, wait 5 minutes and get on. I wanted to cry!! The boys wanted to go on it so bad and there was just no way!! The boys were sooo happy!! They loved the ride. It was the last ride for the evening well with the exception of the tram ride back to the car. We can't wait to go back again!! We are going to try to go back again the late spring and stay for 3 days. Hopefully Disney will offer their Military Appreciation Special again!
I have been non-stress tests since October 5. So far so good. We did find out this past week that the baby has dropped (felt that a week ago today) and the cord is around his neck. At every NST, they do a fluid level check and they are now watching the cord to make sure it doesn't get too tight. So far so good. They said there is a chance he can still get it off since he is moving around so much, but there is also a chance in doing that he can make it tighter. So since I am already having another c-section - it almost seems better if it just stays like it is. I know we don't want the cord around the neck, but I don't want it to tighten with him moving around. So right now no change in it is good.
Sammy had his first jog-a-thon at school this past Friday. The laps were so long, I couldn't believe they expected these kids to raise a bunch of money when they couldn't run very many laps. Sammy ran 4 1/2 laps. It came to just under a mile. If he had been allowed to finish the 5th lap he would have ran a whole mile. His Grandpa came out to watch him run. He was so proud to show off to his grandpa.
Sammy is doing well at school. He has homework Monday through Thursday. He also has to read or be read to for at least 20 minutes every night. Right now we are reading the Chronicles of Narnia to him. He loves this story. He is also bringing home a book from the library every week. This past week he brought home "Christmas in the Country". He can't wait for Christmas. He is still in speech therapy and we expect that to last the whole school year. We can definitely tell a difference in his speech. Sammy is also now playing flag football. He has practice twice a week. His first game is this upcoming Saturday the 31st.
Silas is, well think he's bigger than what he is. He talks like he is a big boy and tries to do the same things Sammy does. He's not happy that he's not in school yet. Yet, at the same time, he is happy to be at home with just me. He is really looking forward to Caleb coming, I am sure it will be a different story once Caleb is home though! He is learning his ABC's right now and how to count. He loves to draw and wants to learn how to write his letters. When Sammy is doing his homework Silas always wants homework also. He loves to tease Sammy and does everything he can to pester him. It is quite funny (and frustrating at times) to watch/listen to this because he just absolutely loves Sammy. Silas is stillll sleeping with us. Now this is frustrating. We try to get him in his bed when it's bedtime and he won't stay in there. So generally I now go upstairs he lays down with me in our bed, goes to sleep. Rob will than carry him to his bed. Than any where between 11pm and 3am he will make his way back to our bed. There have been a few nights in the last couple of weeks where he has stayed in his (or Sammy's bed) all night. We get so much more sleep on those nights.
Rob is still doing workups in preparation for the deployment next year. He will only be gone (hopefully) one more period between now and when Caleb is born. That period is only for a few days-keep your fingers crossed I don't go into labor and Caleb continues to do well so I don't have to deliver him that week!
So I got to see my first c-section- well sorta- on October 4th. My aunt, Christie, after 34 hours of induction, she had to have an emergency c-section. So I got to go in there with her. They wouldn't let me see any part of the surgery though because I was pregnant and they were afraid I would fall. It was a very small room and there was equipment everywhere. But I did get to see Zachary (my new little cousin's name) once they had him out and laying on her stomach. I also got to hold him for about 30-45 minutes while she was still in surgery and while she had her vitals and so forth taken once she was in post-op. He is very cute and so tiny. Sammy and Silas absolutely love him.
I think that is all that has happened since I last posted. I hope you all enjoy the pictures! I will be sure to update more often too!!
We hope you all have a great day full of many blessings!
With Love,
Cynthia
